The Lodge stands in 150 hectares of pristine, indigenous sand forest, in the heart of the Elephant Coast on the eastern seaboard of South Africa, a conservation area of unparalleled diversity. iZungla is a secluded, secure and private haven where one can be alone or with friends, lying at the private swimming pool or sitting around the fireplace, enjoying quiet walks and viewing trees, birds and plains game. It is a wonderful place for a retreat with many spots inviting self-exploration and perfect for couples in need of uninterrupted time together. iZungla only takes one booking at a time and visitors have the entire lodge to themselves. It is perfect for business and leisure use, for families with children over six years old and for friends. iZungla is within easy reach of the Greater St Lucia Wetlands Park which is a World Heritage Site; the Hhluhluwe-Umfolozi Game Reserve and the private Phinda Game Reserve offering Big Five viewing; pristine beaches along the Indian Ocean offering amongst the world's finest opportunities to snorkel and scuba dive, turtle tours and whale watching. Adventurous pursuits such as canoeing, microlighting, quad biking, horse riding and many more may be enjoyed. Accommodation The Main Lodge The main lodge houses the living areas, including a fully fitted, high quality farmhouse style kitchen, a dining area, conversation area around a fireplace, a comfortable lounge area with ceiling fans and an outdoor patio with dining area and sun-loungers next to a private swimming pool. It is equipped with DStv (satellite television), DVD/CD player and VCR, a high quality, surround-sound HiFi system as well as an ice-making machine. Enjoy the option of indoor dining overlooking the waterhole or eating outdoors at the poolside dining area equipped with a gas braai (barbecue) facility. The main lodge and bedrooms all have huge sliding doors which fold back into a recess to allow the breeze to give you the feeling of being outdoors. Bedroom Suites The sleeping accommodation consists of four free-standing bedroom suites away from the main lodge. These are positioned for maximum appreciation of the bush and privacy and have their own private deck. Two suites have king-size four poster beds and the other two have two single beds, all extra length and cocooned by muslin mosquito nets, positioned to embrace the forest. Each suite has a dressing area, a beautiful open bathroom with luxury bath and vanity, separate toilet, outside shower, and sitting area with a comfortable sofa and writing desk. They are equipped with airconditioner, hairdryer, tea and coffee facilities and quality linen and towels. Enjoy outdoor showers in each suite which are especially captivating in the dappled light of day.

All reservations are subject to acceptance of our standard indemnity, which you will be asked to sign on arrival, but will in any event be binding. The indemnity will be forwarded to you at the time of booking. Our booking policy is that bookings will only be confirmed on receipt of payment in full for your stay and such payment should be made on the latter of either the date on which the booking is made or thirty days prior to arrival.
DirectionsOn the N2 freeway take the Sodwana Bay/Hluhluwe offramp. Turn right and travel through Hluhluwe Village. Turn left at the stop street towards Sodwana Bay, about 1km further down turn right over the railway line onto the New Sodwana Bay Rd (R22) Travel 19km along this tarred road until you reach the Kuleni Game Park. Turn left into the park. |
