Set on the eastern side of Ithala Game Reserve, which is managed as a wilderness area, visitors can accompany the field ranger to beautiful areas such as the Mtunzini falls and the Mhulumbela river.In both of these spots guests can swim in large clear pools as Ithala is belhazia free. Guests are accommodated in five comfortable two bed units. A central open plan lounge, dining room and sun deck provide a comfortable gathering area to witness the ebb and flow of shadow and game as the sun moves across the african landscape. This view is unintrupted even when in the shower.
The services of an attendant and a field ranger are available. Ithala is a malaria free area which makes it an ideal place to see africa's landscapes and wildlife. DirectionsIthala Game Reserve is situated near Louwsburg in northern KwaZulu-Natal.
From Durban it is best reached via Eshowe and Melmoth to Vryheid.
From the Gauteng area the best approach is via Standerton, Volksrust and Utrecht to Vryheid.
From the north coast go via Pongola and Magudu.
From Pietermaritzburg travel via Ladysmith, Dundee and Vryheid. |
