The lagoon with its clean water is particularly rich in small fish and crabs. That is why Zinkwazi is a bird paradise. More than 250 species were registered here, amongst them many Kingfisher varieties, the Purple Crested Lourie, very popular in KwaZulu-Natal, or the gifted Natal Robin, which is able to perfectly imitate the call of the African Fish Eagle. While the quiet lagoon is a pleasure for nature lovers and fishermen, the wide beach of Zinkwazi offers a roaring surf and ideal conditions für surfers and swimmers.
